IPPS Pelvic Pain Observership Program
An observership program, which provides qualified healthcare practitioners such as MDs, PTs, NPs, PAs, Fellows and Residents an opportunity to visit one of the observership locations for the purpose of observing on a temporary, restricted basis. If a provider has a valid license to practice in the state of the observership they may examine patients if their mentor agrees.

The Center for Pelvic Pain is a private practice in Annapolis, Maryland that provides care for patients with various complicated gynecologic problems including chronic pelvic pain disorders, vulvar pain, pudendal neuralgia, recurrent vulvovaginitis, peripheral neuropathies. Areas of specific expertise include peripheral nerve entrapments, pudendal neurlagia, vulvodynia and peripheral neuromodulation.
The preceptorship involves exposure to 2- 4 1/2 days in the office and possibly surgical procedures, depending on the schedule. It is important to know the OR schedule is difficult to predict and can change with short notice.
The participant would have exposure to:
- Office-based patient evaluation (560 New patients/year)
- Diagnostic evaluation
- Medical management
- Nerve blocks
- Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, including laparoscopic hysterectomy
- Neuromodulation, procedures and follow up

The Urogynecology Center is a private practice in the suburbs of Kansas City that provides care for patients with various pelvic pain disorders as well as more traditional urogynecologic problems. Areas of specific expertise include pelvic floor myofascial pain, painful bladder syndrome/IC and vulvodynia.
The preceptorship involve two full days in the office and one evening for didactics, case management discussion and BBQ.
The participant would have exposure to:
- Office-based patient evaluation
- Pharmacologic management
- Various intravesical therapies for IC
- Trigger point injections

Beyond Basics Physical Therapy is a private practice in New York City, NY that provides care for adult and pediatric patients with various complicated pelvic health conditions including chronic pelvic pain disorders, vulvar pain, pudendal neuralgia, non-bacterial prostatitis, IC/PBS, IBS, endometriosis, peripheral neuropathies and more.
The physical therapy preceptor ship involves 1-2 half/full days in the office with various practitioners in order to allow the participant to see various forms of treatment and practices. Additional hands-on training can be provided for a separate fee.

The Advanced Gynecological Laparoscopy and Pelvic Pain Center -ALGIA- at ClÃnica Comfamiliar in Pereira (Colombia) is a private practice, university affiliated focused care center in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Pelvic Pain. It addresses the concern that most graduating residents in obstetrics and gynecology are not fully trained in modern MIS techniques and Pelvic Pain.

The preceptorship lasts one week and includes exposure to office-based patient evaluation (including focused H&P), office procedures, diagnostic procedures, medical and surgical management and follow up, nerve blocks and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.
